Nothing screams country music and July 4th week like 108 degrees in the hot Arizona sun. Well, at least for me and a few thousand other people that’s true. To kick off the holiday weekend, the 3rd annual Independence Day Music Festival and Fireworks Show was

held at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, AZ. Some fans showed up early to get the best spots on the field while others continued to roll in throughout the evening. Music kicked off at 6pm with LoCash Cowboys. Having written a lot of hit songs currently on the radio, fans were eager to sing along and the energetic group got everyone in the mood for a night of great music.

As the sun began to set and more fans packed in, Tyler Farr took to the stage. A classic pink and orange sunset filled the sky and fans sang along to Tyler’s biggest hits. The evening’s 106 degrees wasn’t stopping fans from having any fun. Some held water bottles instead of beers (for a little while) while others continued to use the hand fans that each sponsor tent was handing out. Some were dancing while others sat and sang along, mesmerized by music.

The night capped off with a performance by Brantley Gilbert, but before he took to the stage, two signed guitars were auctioned off in support of the 19 firefighters who lost their lives earlier that week in the Yarnell fire. Each went for $5,000 raising a total of $10,000. Once Brantley took to the stage, the sun had set and the bright lights of the stage colored the baseball field. The crowd had packed in and were ready for some great music even though it was still over 100 degrees. Fans sang, danced, and had an all around good time as Brantley kept the energy level high. Following his set was a huge firework display that lit up the sky, officially setting the tone for a great 4th of July weekend!
