Daylight savings time was basically a heads up that we’ve moved from fall to winter. Temperatures dropped and I was off to see Josh Groban and Judith Hill. As the fourth concert I’ve seen this week, this in-the-round show was something unusual for me to see. However, it was a welcome change, making a large arena feel more intimate and personal.

Judith Hill

Knowing Judith from her time on The Voice, I had an idea of what she would sound like live, but nothing could have prepared me for how simply perfect she was. Her set was a mix of originals and covers that captivated the entire crowd with her endless talent. The thirty minute set was the perfect length to please her fans, yet leave the entire crowd wanting more.

Josh Groban

The lights dimmed which signaled that Josh was about to take the stage and it was immediately apparent just how excited the crowd truly was. With different band members starting in the crowd, lights flashed around the stage and Josh transitioned into “Brave” after an anthemic intro. The show was off and running as he moved around the stage, giving everyone their chance to see him. In jeans, white sneakers, and a sport coat, his casual coolness radiated off the stage as he powered through song after song. From jokes about his love of the city to notes that I didn’t know were possible to reach, every minute of the show was simply fantastic.
