A little over a year and a half ago, I was fortunate enough to go see Mumford and Sons live and it was a concert I will never forget. The energy of the band is unmatched and their onstage musicianship is perfect. Earlier this year when the new single “I Will Wait” was released, I was excited to hear what was coming next. The single was great and quickly became a go-to song on my playlist. Today marks the release of their sophomore album, Babel, which is filled with 12 great new tracks that retain the same feel of Sigh No More while updating the sound a bit. The tracklisting is as follows:

1. Babel
2. Whispers In The Dark
3. I Will Wait
4. Holland Road
5. Ghosts That We Knew
6. Lover Of The Light
7. Lovers’ Eyes
8. Reminder
9. Hopeless Wanderer
10. Broken Crown
11. Below My Feet
12. Not With Haste

Something that made a world of difference while listening to this album was the fact that the band recorded several tracks live, meaning that although there was no crowd like at a concert, they played the song all together in one-take rather than in parts that are later pieced together to create the final song. Many of the tracks sound more raw and real thanks to that recording process and it’s something fresh and different in a world of pop music. Grab the album on iTunes, at the store, or off the band’s website because this is one to listen to on repeat.
