It was like a scene in Mission Impossible driving out to see Rascal Flatts on Thursday night in Arizona. The ever so infamous haboob planked the sky as I drove out to the venue. Combine that with a bit of light rain later in the evening and it was the making of some crazy weather that you could only find in Arizona. The show was kicked off by Edens Edge, who were the perfect beginning with their outstanding showmanship and energy . A light breeze made for a constant Beyonce style wind machine.

The first set lasted about 25 minutes and then it was time to do a quick reset of the stage before Eli Young Band took to the stage. Having talked with lead singer Mike Eli last October right after their first single went platinum, I was excited to see how they performed. To my delight, they took to the stage with energy and poise and it was definitely a great continuation of the show.

Following their set was a slightly longer set from Little Big Town that managed to exceed the energy of both earlier bands. The crowd that got to stand next to the stage was moving along to the music and the people on the lawn were having a party.

Shortly after, Rascal Flatts took to the stage ready to go. Their set was full of energy, lights, and some great music. It began with cool LED light tubes that dropped down each containing one of the band members. Playing fan favorites, asking fans which songs they wanted to hear, and using a premade set list created a great mix of music that left the audience feeling quite content.
