There are certain venues I miss back home now that I live out in Philadelphia and one is Martini Ranch in Scottsdale. Filled with memories from the past few years, I was excited to see that hometown band This Century would be playing a holiday show over my winter break. Even better was that Sweet Talker would be back opening the show. After some time catching up with friends, I did an interview with This Century’s Sean and Alex to hear about their trip to the Philippines and the new music coming next year.

The show began with Shane Bojarski who played a nice 25 minute set filled with some originals and covers. Following their set, Kevin Fisher (Sweet Talker) took to the stage. Kevin has been busy writing and recording some new music, so it was great to see his live set again. With the new song “This Is War” sprinkled into the set, the 25 minutes flew by leaving the crowd wanting more. He ended with a cover of Jeff Buckley’s classic “Hallelujah” that left the crowd speechless. After the stage was reset, Radio Drive By took to the stage to entertain the crowd for 30 minutes.

Rounding out the night, This Century flipped on the holiday lights around the stage and the opening notes of “Hopeful Romantic” filled the room. The set list was filled with a combination of old and new including “Running,” “No Way Out,” “Indigo Girl,” and “Skeletons.” The hour set was packed with energy and passion, and the band once again proved just how much fun they have playing music. Following their set, the band took time to talk to each and every fan that wanted to say a quick hello or get a photo. Look for new music from This Century in 2013 and check out the interview below.
