Sometimes a movie is so touching and sweet that you can only imagine the effort put in by all of the cast and crew. I showed up to ‘The Vow’ knowing that I would probably cry and the story would be a bit sad, but what I didn’t expect was to laugh and smile as well. Although Rachel McAdams may carry around the stigma of being a dumb blond in Mean Girls and Channing Tatum as the jock type in almost every movie, both were so in-tune with their characters and believable! I couldn’t help but feel like a fly on the way as their relationship grew. Any movie that is inspired by true events holds the extra weight of paying homage to the original story. Although there is a book about the life of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, the movie does not just copy their life. It takes on a role of its own, showing the story through the eyes of another couple who go through similar experiences. There were comedic elements and scenes that pulled at your heart. Never did it feel like a cheesy comedy. Although The Notebook is such a classic, McAdams has made yet another. Make sure to go see this movie with a group of girls, your boyfriend, girlfriend or alone. Guys, it is told from the guys side and you can see what he goes through and girls, you will be touched by how sweet Tatum’s character is.
