Many of us would want to live in a world where everything is pre-planned, and we don’t have to worry about anything. Many of us aspire to achieve those lofty heights we’ve always imagined and desire to set and achieve our objectives.

Every day, we all want to do this and ask these questions. It’s also excellent for us and our development. In this essay, I’ll go into detail on how to set and achieve goals. The steps you’ll see here are taken from Brian Tracy’s Million Dollar Habits.

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” — Tony Robbins

This book is full of precious nuggets and many habits that we need to practice to achieve in any career. Here, I’ll walk you through the 7-step goal-setting method that I used and how it impacted my life. Some people now claim it’s not good or that they don’t like it. However, they are tried-and-true techniques, and I can tell you that you will be well on your way to achieving your objectives if you follow them. So, let’s get this party started right immediately.

Decide On Your Goal

The first step in achieving your objective is deciding what you want to do. It is necessary because you cannot achieve anything until you desire to do so. Therefore, there should be a goal to work towards.

Make a list of your plans for the next two, five, and ten years. Would you mind jotting down your thoughts on a piece of paper or in your diary? Have a clear objective in mind so you can see it and work toward it.

Set a Deadline

The next stage is to figure out when you want to attain that objective and establish a deadline for yourself. You’ve probably heard the saying that a goal without a deadline is just a wish. So make sure your plan has a definite deadline.

It could be something like this: by July 22nd, 2022, I want to have made a million dollars. When you give yourself a deadline, your subconscious mind begins to think about and work toward that goal. Therefore, for each goal you specify, you must have a deadline.

“A goal without a timeline is just a dream.” — Robert Herjavec

Identify all Activities

The third stage is to list all of the activities that must be completed to achieve your goal. Make a list of all the activities you’ll need to complete to achieve your objectives. It’s an essential phase because it’ll determine your future steps in goal-setting.

You become a part of your objective when you identify the activities required to achieve it. So, now that you have everything you need to perform and reach your goal. Let’s move on to the next phase.

Plan the Things

Planning is the fourth step in goal-setting. What does the term “planning” mean in this context? Because you defined the steps in the previous phase, identify all activities, you must now prepare the sequence for conducting those steps. Which of the following actions should I take the initiative to help me move forward?

It would be beneficial if you prioritized your tasks — what should be done first, and then what should be done next. For example, if you’re beginning a business, you may need to learn about the first steps, such as obtaining information about the company or determining the necessary talent.

Identify all Obstacles

The fifth phase in goal-setting is to identify the difficulties you are now facing in achieving that objective. Why is it required? When you understand your roadblocks, you can plan your steps accordingly. If you intend to climb a mountain, for example, you should consider all possible obstacles so that you can prepare.

It might be the height, the pressure, the cold, or anything else. If you know who they are ahead of time, you can be ready to deal with them at any moment.

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” — Henry Ford

Take the First Step

The sixth step is to take at least a single step towards your goal. After you’ve identified all of your activities, devised a plan to carry them out, and recognized all of your roadblocks, the only thing left is for you to take the first step.

Please accomplish something productive today to assist your progress. Remember, it’s the first step, not just thinking and planning, that will get you to the summit of the mountain.

Do something Everyday

The seventh step, last but not least, is to do it every day. At the absolute least, do something every day that will assist you in achieving your goal.
When you do something every day, your plan will appear to be simple. And, if you miss, you may feel as if you are not doing it.

Every day, modest steps will have an impact on your thoughts. So take a few minutes or an hour out of your hectic day to do the things that will help you achieve your objectives.

When these seven stages are followed attentively, they will yield a significant difference. You’ll be more organized in achieving your objectives. Second, it is one of the most effective methods for setting and achieving goals.

“You are never too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream.” — C.S. Lewis
