For someone travelling to London, you will be shocked by the number of vegan food options available to you. I’ll be honest, it is hard for me to keep up with the new vegan restaurants, cafes and food stands popping up all over London.

But to make life a little easier for you I have put together some of my favourite places to eat in order to steer you in the right direction.

This is, of course, subject to change, so make sure to check back later on when I have sampled even more of the vegan food London has to offer.

PUREZZA

Looking for vegan pizza? Then this is the place to go. Located in Camden, not far from the underground station, this restaurant provides you with a very large selection of pizzas and calzones. Their vegan cheese is sublime and they offer different bases including, wholemeal, hemp and gluten-free. They also won pizza of the year for their Parmigiana Party pizza at the UK national pizza awards. If that doesn’t make you want to try their pizzas then I don’t know what will! Make sure to take a look at their specials if you decide to go.

THE BIG V

If you are near London Bridge and looking for a vegan burger then take a visit to Borough Market. Here you will find The Big V burger stand. They have 5 burger options, including The Killer, which consists of chilli jack cheese, jalapenos, caramelised onions and their delicious house sauce. Borough Market is only open till 5 pm, so try and make it for lunch.

CLUB MEXICANA

I’m always on the lookout for Mexican food and if you are too then be sure to check these guys out. They have a stand that pops up at different markets around London (currently at Dinerama in Shoreditch) and also a kitchen at The Spread Eagle Pub in Camden. If you are looking for vegan Mexican favourites such as jackfruit tacos, loaded nachos and vegan burritos then check out their social pages to see where they are cooking! @clubmexicana

TIBITS

A vegetarian restaurant with mostly vegan options (100% vegan on Tuesdays), the Tibits dining style is simple. Take as much food as you want, put it on your plate, and then weigh it to see how much it costs. It’s that simple! But be careful, the food looks so good you can easily get carried away. This is the place to go if you want a healthy selection of hot dishes, salads, soups and juices.

JOLLOF BOX

I have mentioned them before on my previous blog on London Markets, but this is simply amazing vegan African food. Although not all their dishes are completely vegan, the vegan African stews they provide are excellent. They are currently based in Old Spitalfields Market during weekdays and are planning to move to their own residence soon. If you are in the area and are craving some warming food, then make sure to give it a try. Just be careful with their hot sauce if you can’t stand the heat!

BONUS TIP

If you are very hungry and stuck for choices then head to Pret. Pret is a lifesaver when it comes to vegan food because they are on every street corner in London and provide a fair amount of vegan food options. They also have a Veggie Pret in 4 locations around London.
