From a long-forgotten kingdom, now buried in the overgrowth of an ancient forest, there is a story that lives on. Like many stories from dead kingdoms, it begins with a covetous king.

Though avaricious, King Isidore ruled his kingdom with stability and prosperity. His subjects were loyal. His reign was characterized by a steady accrual of properties and possessions.

Despite his success, King Isidore was never able to enjoy what he had for there was always something occupying his mind. He was usually able to acquire anything he wanted but there was one thing that eluded him. His scouts told him rumors of a small village atop a misty mountain that held a treasure that far surpassed the value of any of the king’s possessions.

These stories kept King Isidore up at night. He could not imagine anything greater than what he already had. Not being able to stand it any longer, he gathered all the details he could from his scouts and sent one of his ambassadors out to negotiate an exchange for the treasure.

A few weeks later the ambassador returned. He explained that he met a hunter who told him even if he could access the village, which was very technically difficult to access, negotiation would be impossible…
