I am a Doctor in English Studies from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) who specialises in Postcolonial Literature. In my thesis, I analysed the work of Zadie Smith and postcolonial trauma.

My articles and book chapters on the topic can be found on ResearchGate. I am also interested in diasporic and refugee narratives and World Literature.

I am a firm believer in the power of literature to open up our eyes and bring hope in a complex, chaotic world. My favorite tote bag reads “Fight Evil. Read Books”.

This space will contain posts about my current research on Zadie Smith and refugee narratives, and my interest in slave narratives and fiction published outside the Anglo-Saxon world.

Together with Dr. Víctor Navarro Remesal I have also explored postcolonial perspectives on videogames, a project we are hoping to expand over the next few years.

I am currently teaching English Morphology and English for Specific Purposes at the University of the Balearic Islands in Palma (Spain). I have also taught Academic Writing, Phonetics, Grammar, Old English, Shakespeare, and Modernist Literature.
