Sexy times (Day 95)

There is no pregnancy without hormones. And further, there is no early motherhood without feeling drained. Even in cases like ours, when the baby is a very good sleeper.

While pre-pregnancy and during pregnancy, I had loads of desire to be intimate with my husband, now, nature intervened. It is not that there is no desire (gosh, there is), but my body is now fine-tunned to care for our baby and he (for some time) comes first. That leaves me either tired or un-groomed (or both) to take part in any action apart from kissing and/or cuddling. (Call me quirky, but I require my teeth washed for kissing and my legs shaved for some 1:1 quality time.)

However, it is important for us to have our sexy times back. And frankly, I miss them. So I decided to trust my husband with this task of slowly wiggling some him and me time into our baby-led days.

Today I ordered a special book which doubles as a diary for couples with a bunch of ideas, tasks and date suggestions that I hope will inspire him to take me on a “back to us” journey. He’s getting it for Christmas and I can’t wait what he’ll prepare for us in the upcoming months.

Motherhood in numbers:

  • shower: none
  • teeth washed: twice
  • breastfeeding sessions: nine
