A Glimpse Into The Life at BK
Dear Juniors,
Who doesn’t like the post-graduation degree hanging on the wall? Isn’t it one of the greatest achievement one could get? For which you have to work dedicatedly and differently, so juniors, welcome to the world where spoon feeding no longer serves, but practical exposure does. It is all about the perception of seeing half glass filled, and not empty.
Does it ever happen that while traveling by train you see a beautiful scenery and when later on you try to recall it, you often miss it? The same thing happens in BKSBM too — it is a beautiful journey which gets over a little too fast, so try to create, assemble and treasure all the memories which are going to be the precious gemstone of your life.
Do you have any idea what makes the journey of BK different from others? With being a BK student, comes expectations to perform and to respect the legacy of successful alumni in various industries. You will realize that it is a student-driven college which might feel like a responsibility you never asked for. But each responsibility is also an opportunity to learn practical lessons of management and life.
Just give a thought about it: Why were more connected and together in old times? Was their lifestyle one of the reasons for their happiness? Because at that point of time so many people were living in a small house together comfortably and making it a home. The same is the scenario of BK, no matter how small the campus is, it works as a knitted cloth by keeping all the threads together.
Speciality of a B-school is that it gives you the glimpse of corporate world, by teaching you that what you exactly perceive is not what exactly happening, for every scoundrel there is a hero, for every selfish politician there is a dedicated leader, for every enemy there is a friend, for every loss there is a winning you just need an extra eye and an extra mile to apprehend it.
We all know that without celebrations, life is unhappening. Events play an important role in making this happening, it all starts with Prarambh(Orientation and Freshers’ Night) where we welcome our beloved juniors. Celebrating the world’s biggest dance festival, Navratri which is called Vrund. Milaap, a fun night which celebrates the friendship and unity of seniors and juniors. Pratibimb, a special event supporting an environmental cause of cleanliness. Then there comes the most special event of BK, “RENAISSANCE” that works as an icing on the cake to the curriculum of BK. It is two day event handled by students, by bringing sponsorships and working together in a unity. This act as a wonderful experience and major learning in everybody’s life.The two major components of events are Panache and Pal. Panache is a musical night comprises of a fashion show, music, drama, dance, and fun. Pal is the event where family returns to alma mater, meeting our great alumni( the soul of our college) who are at some noteworthy positions,itself makes that evening astonishing.
Your life will be termed as “Pre-BK” and “Post-BK”. The learning here is continuous and it is not confined to classrooms. Your batchmates and seniors will be part of your learning. There will be times where you will explore uncharted territories, where you might fail or be praised. But guess what? As Chris Martin said, “If you never try you’ll never know, just what you’re worth”. So explore yourself, extend your limits, challenge your capabilities, take part in many activities as you can.
Fasten your belts, because this is going to be a roller coaster ride. We, seniors, are always there for you. All the very best!
