a. Install and set up Cypress: Use npm to install Cypress and initialise it within your project directory.

b. Create test scripts: Write test scripts using Cypress’s intuitive API to interact with modules like data integration/data manager. These scripts should cover various scenarios and actions you want to test.

c. Customise the Cypress configuration: Modify the configuration file to integrate with the platform (module individually). Set up environment variables, URLs, and authentication details required for testing.

d. Run and analyse tests: Execute the tests using the Cypress test runner. Monitor the test results and leverage Cypress’s debugging tools to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Procedural steps:

● In order to ensure the proper functioning of a data integration/data manager module, manual testing is conducted to understand its working conditions.

● Test scripts are written using the Cypress API, defining the actions to be performed and the expected results. These scripts cover various scenarios such as user authentication, data retrieval, UI and graph visualisation.

● The tests are executed locally using Cypress, providing real-time test execution view and debugging capabilities. Cypress commands like ‘npx cypress open’ and ‘npx cypress run’ are used to run the tests either through the UI or command line.

● To ensure consistent testing, the setup is integrated with a CI/CD pipeline (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) to automatically trigger tests upon code changes.

○ Stages involve tags, test, pre and post scripts which need to get executed while building the pipeline

○ Cleaning Up the previous build plays a major role (chown)

○ Also ensure the build with different environment variables (stores) like graphdb, virtuoso, stardog individually

● Cypress generates detailed reports with screenshots, video recordings, and logs, which can be configured and stored for future reference.

Current day dependencies:
