September Update: DLPs Are Coming and Events Season Has Started!

From this month, we are introducing a cool and short monthly blogpost in order to keep you updated with the Aavesome news around the company and the products.
Technical & Development Updates
As you know, we are about to launch our new lending product: Aave Decentralized Lending Pools (DLPs). This app will allow lenders to earn interest from deposits and borrowers to borrow instantly from a perpetual credit line. The peculiarities are:
- The possibility to switch from fixed to variable rate for both borrowers and lenders
- The governance of the smart contract
You can read more details about it here. The product has been launched on the testnet during August and we asked some early adopters to test the app, receiving lots of useful advice.
Where are we now?
- The protocol is undergoing the first round of audits by Trail of Bits. The audit process is proceeding smoothly and no relevant issues have been reported so far.
- We are also reviewing internally the code, from the theory to the implementation, to ensure the safety of the system from day 1.
- After the audit/review, process is completed, the protocol will be released with an open-source license. We believe that being open source and giving back to the community is the best way to strengthen the protocol and promote its growth.
- Immediately after the source code release, a bug bounty campaign will start. Stay in touch with the team by joining our Discord channel or the Telegram channel!

Events & Community
The team just participated to the Berlin Blockchain Week (Aug 19th — 25th) and it was AAVESOME!
- We hosted 3 meetups, partnering with MakerDAO, Bitwala, Limechain and Centrifuge. All of them were focused on Decentralized Finance and the discussions and panels were truly insightful. It is always interesting to talk and confront with DeFi enthusiasts and experts.
- We participated to Dappcon where our CEO Stani had a talk about Staking as a Service and to ETHBerlin, where we sponsored and met a lot of valuable people and hackers. In ETHBerlin we saw our DLPs (now on testnet) being integrated by Cryptomaniacs team.
What’s next? Osaka here we go!!
