Author Jim Ruland stopped by Thunderlove Cafe’ and talked with Rob Janicke and Keith R. Higgons about his new book, Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise and Fall of SST Records (Hachette Books).

There were many stories shared and, believe it or not, most of them made it into the podcast.

In this episode, Jim recounts how he handled his three year research sojourn that took him from the early days of punk zines through modern day web sites and press releases. The meticulous attention to all of those details help make Corporate Rock Sucks one of the better music books released so far this year.

You also get clued in to Jim’s path to becoming a writer as well as a little insight into his “process.” And it’s less punk rock than you may thing… but it’s still punk rock.
