Meet our Crypto Advocate and Advisor Collin Thompson
We are exultant to introduce the latest addition to the Abelian Team, seasoned entrepreneur Collin Thompson.
He first obtained his BA degree for Liberal Arts and Sciences from York University. He later joined the Program for Leadership Development, Harvard Business School’s alternative Executive MBA. For 19 years, he has spent most of his career as a product designer and entrepreneur for various companies.
Collin Thompson is currently the CEO, Co-founder and Managing Director of Intrepid Technologies, a blockchain venture development studio that designs and builds new companies.
He focuses on product design and growth marketing and also manages the company’s research on blockchain technology. He also works with startups and emerging technologies to supervise business growth, and overlook digital transformation for global enterprises.
Thompson’s hobbies include teaching focused on Product management, and outside of work, he loves to work out, and enjoys eating at restaurants and drinking coffee with friends.
The Path to Blockchain
Thompson started working on blockchain technology in 2014 and has gone on to develop Metabase, a high performance blockchain platform, as well as Blockchain Startups, a global cryptocurrency and blockchain startup community among other incredible feats.
“I am interested in a new technology that can provide a once-in-a-generation change to how we interact with computers. I love how large scale distributed systems could be self -governing and what types of applications you could create on this kind of infrastructure.”
The Ideal Project
Thompson has always wanted to work on a project together with Dr. Duncan Wong, founder of the Abelian Foundation. Thompson was not only into blockchain from a technological perspective but also from a legal and social perspective. Once they caught up together, they both decided that the Abelian project would be an ideal project to collaborate together on.
“I think that a quantum-resistant cryptocurrency is an important enhancement that will have a large impact on financial services and government services going forward.”
