Okay, so passing your test and the number of lessons needed changes from person to person! So it’s impossible to say — however here are the tips to ensure you pass with the smallest number of lessons in Aberdeen.

First of, before we begin. It’s worth pointing out the average number of lessons in the UK is actually 47 hours!! But on top of that, learners are recommended by the DVSA to have 22 hours of private practice in their own time — that's time in a car with a friend or family member.

Choose the right driving instructor

Find a driving instructor you just gel with. Ensure that they are well-reviewed and that their personality suits yours. You can use GoRoadie to find Aberdeen Driving Instructors, view prices, compare and ultimately book your instructor.

More than one-hour per week

Having more driving lessons in the same week means you will get more confident, faster. You will also retain your skills. Even look at intensive driving courses as these are great for spending lots of time in a car over a short period of time. Confidence is the key to passing and more time in the car will build your confidence for sure.

Private Practice, yo!

Again, spending more time in the car with your friends or family will build your confidence. Speak to your driving instructor about this first though, ask them what you should practice and even ask for some areas and locations to practice around. We know that the Ikea near Aberdeen Cove is a great place to practice some manoeuvres.

Mock Tests

Having mock tests will give you a clear understanding of how you are progressing. They will highlight areas for growth and areas that you are smashing. Remember, don’t always just look at the negatives!

GoRoadie is a UK-based startup, connecting driving students with their ideal instructors. We just launched our Aberdeen Driving Lessons landing page, helping Aberdonians pick their ideal driving instructor — as well as learners across the UK in Dundee, Glasgow, Nottingham and Leeds.
