To support equal opportunities in the world of IT, ABN AMRO has teamed up with Girl Code to co-host a MeetUp: ‘Where Data meets Code’. Join us at ABN AMRO HQ on Thursday, September 29 (17:45–21:00) in Amsterdam to hear three inspirational tech talks by female coders who will guide us through their latest projects in data and code. Everyone is welcome! Register on the Girl Code MeetUp page (for free) or read more below.

Women in IT

Half of our society is female. That is why ABN AMRO wants female customers and colleagues to feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Women with ambitions and dreams should get the right opportunities with us. ABN AMRO is fully committed to creating a level playing field. We believe that not only women, but society as a whole will benefit from this. To support equal opportunities in the world of IT and coding ABN AMRO has teamed up with Girl Code to co-host a MeetUp.

Live MeetUp: Where Data meets Code

Data-driven. This is a concept that we as developers come across daily when building our applications. At this meetup, we’ll talk about where data meets code. For example: What are ways to implement the metrics our analysts want to be able to use? How does the data-driven approach affect your coding job? A demo of your application before and after the data-driven way of working. A demo of how your application sends data to your analysts and how the data results get translated back into your code. More practically: A best practice for implementing data pushes in your code to Google Analytics. The use of graph databases like CosmosDB or Neo4j. You name it.

Open speaker call

Do you have an idea for a talk that fits our topic ‘Where Data meets Code’? We are looking for women developers (or data scientists/engineers who also code) who want to do a talk at this event. The talk is approx 10–15 minutes, and the friendliest stage on earth, called Girl Code, ensures it’s a nice stage for both professional speakers, and also for women doing their first talk ever.
Interested? Send your proposal with a title for your talk and 2–3 sentences about what it would be about asap to ineke.scheffers@hotmail.com and who knows: one of the open spots might be yours! I hope so!
