We are proud to announce that we are launching two new (pilot) APIs very soon. Both APIs will enable you to receive your transaction data in real-time, without any manual effort of you or any initiation on your side. The data will be pushed to the system of your choosing, which enables you to streamline internal processes and improve the user experience. Read more about the APIs and timelines below.

Two new APIs

A few years ago, ABN AMRO launched the Business Account Notification API. This API enabled you to receive a notification (webhook) based on events happening on your bank account. The notification you would receive confirmed that the event that you subscribed to occurred on your bank account. While validating the API, we gathered feedback from the users and concluded the following:

  1. During the feedback sessions held along with the launch of this API we learned from our business that next to the confirmation, there is a need for the (underlying) transaction data.
  2. Subscriptions to specific events are not always needed, sometimes you just want data of all transactions.

These findings resulted in the iteration of the Business Account Notification API and result in two new APIs:

Business Account Notification API 2.0

The Business Account Notification API 2.0 provides a notification that contains all transaction data relating to the entries being booked on the bank account. The Business Account Notification API 2.0 Pilot will start in September.

Business Account Notification-Filtered API

The Business Account Notification — Filtered API offers the opportunity to filter the transaction data. It sends out the transaction data in the notification, for the events (transactions) you have subscribed to, that have occurred on the bank account by means of webhooks. The Business Account Notification — Filtered API pilot will start Q4 2024.

Who is this API intended for?

This functionality greatly helps companies that have client facing processes that are depending on transaction information, status of payment and critical timeliness. By implementing one of these APIs, the transaction status can be reported instantly in the channel of your choosing. Whether it is bookkeeping software, CRM or TMS it is up to you. The distribution of transaction data will be faster, easier and tailored to your needs.

True real-time reporting

Rather than manually downloading or requesting the (Intra-day) transaction data via one of our electronic banking channels, these APIs actively push the transaction data. This eliminates manual effort, including implicit risks, or applications periodically polling for data. The transaction data is pushed instantly once the transaction is booked on your back account.

Early Access

Early Access to the API will be made available in September 2024. This means that a limited number of clients will have access to the API in the production environment. During the Early Access, the API can be fine-tuned to provide you with the best API experience.

Are you interested to participate in the pilot during the Early Access, leave us a message via the contact form on the ABN AMRO Developer Portal and we are happy to schedule an introduction meeting.
