A few days ago, I found myself rushing to the hospital in full-blown panic mode. My heart was pounding so hard and so fast, I genuinely thought I was having a heart attack.
To be honest, I have not been in a hospital for years, so just walking into the emergency room made me anxious. But this time felt different — serious. One of the lesser-known symptoms of perimenopause is heart palpitations, and while I had experienced them mildly before, this episode was on a whole new level.
I was in the middle of my usual house chores when it hit: a sudden racing heartbeat, tightness in my chest, and a feeling like my heart might literally jump out of my chest.
