I woke up at 6AM this morning and what I witnessed was something I have been missing out on for so long — the rain’s soothing symphony.

I stood there for a while, feeling the cold wind, listening to the best music and it suddenly made me reminisce all the beautiful things that add up to my complete life & that makes me feel grateful about every single day.

Often, people forget to be grateful for all the beautiful things they have; rather, they crib about things they don’t have or rather can’t have.

Insensitive, right? I know.

But, I am steering clear of this mistake. I will say all the reasons out loud that make me feel grateful every single day because it’s just one life & I am not missing a chance to be vocal about it. :)

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” — Oprah Winfrey

  1. Health & mental well-being:

It’s so funny how your body & mind never stop working. They are not even scared of threats sometimes. Phew!!

Despite that, I’m grateful that I’m fit & fine, able to run my errands pretty well, handle tough situations smoothly, disease-free & most importantly, breathe..

Well, I was kind of lost in between, but now, thanks to my “weight gain”, it has reminded me of how being fit matters more than staying slim. I signed up for a Yoga class & you won’t believe, it has alleviated many of my concerns.

For example, I’m now able to fall asleep in a jiffy, be rejuvenated all day mentally with only positive thoughts & I’m gradually gaining my flexibility.

2. Lifestyle:

I live in the “Diamond city (Surat)” and in a city where people are quite rich but tend to spend on different not-so-obvious things.

We diverge in that aspect.

My husband & I like to spend more on our quality time, or rather on things that we love doing together.

Like, it has become a ritual to watch at least one movie every week, we have mandate dinners at new places every Sunday, I personally like to spend a lot on clothes.

I’m not much into branded stuff. I like reasonable clothes but with variety.

Touchwood, I have a wonderful lifestyle. I am content. Period.

3. Family:

What comes to your mind when you hear words like “supportive” or “understanding” or “lifelong anchors”??

Parents!! Family!!

I’m fortunate in two ways. I have my own family who is loving, supportive, available anytime and more importantly, I have the best in-laws I thought who never existed.

In times of distress, family is the only one who stands with you without any selfish motive or conditions.

You can be yourself with them being around. You can pour your heart out in front of them, ask for solutions that are always, without a doubt, going to be the best for you.

You’re blessed with a lifetime gift if you have a beautiful family & I’m one among them.

4. Experiences:

Life is a series of good & bad experiences; some teach us to be strong, some teach us a lifetime lesson & some bring us out from our comfort zone, for good.

Been there, lived them.

I have faced heartbreaks, aced moving on, carried a reservoir of lessons for life.

I don’t have any huge things to share & not sure if you would be intrigued in little things that keep happening to me.

5. Friends:

In life, there are moments when, despite your closeness to your parents, you may find it challenging to confide your feelings or life’s happenings with them.

Your friends often become the best confidants, offering non-judgmental support and a stress-free outlet.

I’ve never been one to have a huge circle of friends since childhood. I mingle with different folks, but not everyone gets the full me. I’m pretty choosy that way.

Yet, when I do click with someone, they become more than just a friend; they’re special, and I stick with them through thick and thin.

Long story short, I have 2–4 people who I can go with teary eyes, bare my soul to & I’m so thankful for having them in my life.

6. A loving partner for life:

Not everyone is as lucky as they should be when we talk about relationships.

I am. :)

I’ve spoken about a bit of it in my “About” section too.

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

But looks like I did. When I initially saw my husband’s photo, I was less intrigued by it. But, thank god, I still believed in “Destiny”.

I spoke to him for a month or so & that’s when I could make the biggest decision of my life to getting hitched.

Trust me when I say this, the BEST decision of my life. Thanks to my parents, of course as they pushed me into the door of paradise. :)

But, having a partner who stands with you during every peak and valley, understands you, gives you the space you deserve, most importantly, treats you like an equal, is not less than a blessing.

I am grateful for this life and my partner.

While these points may seem trivial or insignificant to some, I implore you to consider that even in the midst of a busy life, the most fortunate among us can sometimes overlook the importance of gratitude.

This article serves as a gentle reminder to cultivate a sense of thankfulness for all the blessings that surround us.

Start with one & I’m sure you’ll not dislike to include others. :)
