A Bit More About Messy Me — Jenny Lane
We are all beautifully unique fingerprints of the Universe
I can understand children making one feel lesser than. Naturally, as kids, we are taught by our parents who to look up to, and who to look down on. But as adults? I have a hard time understanding why we still do.
My parents taught me we are all worthy of love.
Parents don’t have to say a word though. Because kids sure pick up what they are putting down.
And when some kids have generational wealth, and other kids’ parents are budgeting on shoestrings or nothing — the children end up knowing who is who. There becomes quite the rift, a clear divide for children to put others in the “other” box.
This happened in the town I grew up in. New England, USA.
I was born in April of 1980, after 72 hours of labor and a c-section. Ma reminded me often of that number. Can totally understand why I’m an only child.
