I’ve deleted my opening paragraph three times already!

I don’t know how to introduce this next piece of writing to you. I would have never been able to share if it wasn’t for a community of writers encouraging me to BE ME.

I once felt like the woman in the photo, but having this pen name has made all the difference. I don’t have to speak cautiously for fear of retaliation.

I wrote it in August of 2021. So, it’s almost a year later, and no one has seen it except the disability offices that determined my case.

**I’ve edited it for grammatical errors and added white space to make it easier to read.***

How do your illnesses, injuries, or conditions limit your ability to work?

I have Complex PTSD from a 20-year abusive marriage and being a part of a cult-like religion. I suffered physical, emotional, sexual, and spiritual abuse for decades.

Mid-year- 2016, my son ran away from home because of the abuse he suffered from his paternal grandfather. Then late 2016, my daughter informed me that daddy was touching her at night.

My whole world turned upside down. I was diagnosed with C-PTSD, anxiety disorder, severe depression, adjustment disorder…
