A New Chapter: Shining a Light on the Okanagan’s Hidden Influencers

Last weekend, I decided to log back into my account for the first time in over a year. It’s strange how life seamlessly sweeps you off course and carries you somewhere else.
Looking at my last post from December 2023 has shown me how life has changed since then. I’ve changed jobs, moved apartments, and reshaped my circle of friends. I’ve grown, shed old layers, and learned to prioritize my peace. I’ve also gained a deeper understanding of the power of community and the importance of being present for the people around me.
During my time away, I realized that self-improvement and empowerment of my people will always be a part of my identity. However, while these two themes will always remain close to my heart, my focus has shifted.
It’s time to widen the lens and bring something new to the forefront.
Lately, I feel drawn to something more rooted in where I live — to telling the stories of the creatives, changemakers, and unsung heroes right here in the Okanagan Valley.
This is where I’m shifting my focus to — the vibrant heartbeat of my town.
My goal is simple but profound: to raise awareness of these hidden influencers and help them shine brighter. I want to use this platform, not only to expand my own business and connections, but to uplift the incredible people whose work inspires and enriches our community.
I’ve met photographers capturing raw, authentic moments that tell a thousand words. I’ve watched DJs turn quiet nights into a dancefloor of memories. I’ve seen writers and artists pour their souls into their craft, weaving pieces of themselves into every brushstroke and word.
These people — the hidden influencers — deserve more light, more space, and more recognition.
This isn’t about showcasing talent. It’s about fostering a network of support, creativity, and collaboration. It’s about telling the stories behind the scenes that often go untold, and celebrating the diversity and passion that fuels our region.
