The Day That Changed My Life Forever
It was the early 2000s. I was newly married, and we often hosted visitors who came to congratulate us. One weekend, my husband’s older cousin called to say she would visit. Coming from different communities, I decided to cook something special—a dish that represented mine.
Among the wedding gifts we had received were two pressure cookers. I had never used one before, but I had heard about how quickly they cooked meals. That day, I decided it was the perfect time to try it.
With the help of Mercy, who assisted me around the house, we prepared the meal and set it to cook in the pressure cooker. I went about cleaning the house, excited to welcome our guest. Everything was going perfectly.
