Warning, the most cliched introduction ever is coming your way.
As a kid,
I used to kill ants and bury them. I would do a proper funeral by naming them and putting a chit over their grave as their tombstone. I wasn’t stupid, I was a kid, and for the cliched part, I loved writing. I didn't scribble groundbreaking discoveries in my notes just my feelings and experiences. Unfortunately, the first writing piece my parents got hold of was a note I wrote on how I wanted to end my life because dad scolded me. Yes, 9-year-old Aeisha was emotional like that. Well, didn’t we all wish this back when we were kids?
As the eldest one in the family, I followed the script of how to be a great daughter quite well, got good grades, never had a night out with friends, and eventually a degree. I had been a good student overall. Honestly, I was slightly above average what favoured me was my writing skills. I could write pages about concepts I barely knew and this helped to pass my exams. Because the length of my answers showed how brainy I was.
I remember writing a 17-page answer on Indo-Pak relations whereas I prepared for the Pak-America relationship. No, I didn’t replace the country names, the 3 of us never had a direct relationship but an intertwined one…
