A Glimpse Into My World, From My Perspective Anyway
The time has finally come for me to write an About Me piece. I have been procrastinating as if it would be the last thing I’d ever write. One of the best insights I’ve ever received from my own writing relates to ego.
Whenever I’m super excited about a character, a scene, or a plot point, I know I need to take a step back and detach. Marrying an idea brings out a self-centered reflection of what I want to convey. It commonly says something about who I am, which provides an obstacle to the creation of good art.
The problem I have with writing an about-me piece is that it’s all about me — my ego is intertwined with the work. With that being said, here’s my attempt at toeing the line between oversharing and writing something worthwhile. I’ll try not to stand in the way.
