About Me — Alejandro Betancourt
Single dad, business owner, and writer.
I’ve been hesitant to put up an “About me” introduction, but here it is.
I can talk about many things, but I don’t feel the same when talking about myself. And it’s not like I don’t enjoy doing so; I have a reasonable amount of narcissism.
But I tend to be more reflective when it comes to myself.
On September 11th in Mexico City, I was born the eldest of two children. My parents are a lovely married couple who will mark their 50th wedding anniversary next year.
I’m a single dad to twin boys and have been an entrepreneur and business owner since I was eighteen.
I now devote part of my time to one of the two Venture Capital Funds I founded. We are focusing on renewable energy.
This is the 151st article I’ve published on Medium. Despite my lifelong experience, it was only last year that I committed to writing more seriously.
With my writing, I deal with various topics: business, self-improvement, transhumanism, parenting, and other themes to help boost productivity and life fulfillment. I don’t want to limit myself to a specific niche. Am I wrong?
I like to think of myself as a complex individual, but I know that’s not always the case. I can be pretty simple at times, but there are times when life is one big puzzle—trying to figure out all the pieces and how they fit together. It can be frustrating, but it’s also fascinating.
I’m always striving to learn and grow, hoping that never changes.
Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, the more you know, the more you realize how little you know. And that’s ok. We don’t have to have all the answers.
Life is about the journey, not the destination.
So, that’s me in a nutshell. Or at least that’s how I see myself. There’s more to me than what I’ve said here, but this is a good start.
