My journey from “Hello World” to Data Scientist
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Alisa, and I am here to figure out the answer to a previous question.
I was born in Russia but currently live and study Computer Science at Czech Technical University in Prague. I am in love with my uni, especially my study courses. Logic and Graph Theory, Problem-Solving methods and Games, and Linear Algebra are my favorites for now.
The funny thing is, that a few years ago, I literally thought I was not a “tech” kind of person and wanted to get a Bc. degree in Social Sciences. The breaking point was the quarantine when I accidentally found out, that I would rather solve 5 linear equations systems than write an essay for school.
Since then I realized, that I was confused by society and the people around me. Nobody tells me, that I could succeed in math and computer science. I never thought that my A grades since of very beginning of primary school could say something about my abilities in STEM subjects. “The girl in tech” was something weird and unacceptable in my surroundings. And now we slowly come to the next question.
