About me — Amelia Johannsen
An unexpected journey of healing and creativity.
Hello everyone! I’m Amelia.
I’ve been writing for years on my personal blog and for creative publications like smART Magazine and my very own brainchild, FrikiFish. And guess what? I’ve finally decided to crash the Medium party.
I know, I know, I’m late. So let me take a moment to properly introduce myself.
Like most people, I discovered my artistic ability as a kid. Lucky for me, my creative zest survived the academic gauntlet. It got a bit wobbly there, I admit. But, hey, I emerged victorious in the end.
You see, after years of dabbling in artistic pursuits such as pottery and jewelry-making, I stopped creating when I went off to college.
Then I moved to Spain and needed to figure out how to make my way as an illegal expat while pursuing conventional career paths that would make all my expensive schooling “worth it.”
I even married for my papers to be able to get a decent job! Don’t get me wrong — at the time, I loved the man I married, but I wouldn’t have taken that plunge if I wasn’t on a mission to be a professional adult in this crazy, competitive, money-hungry world.
