About Me — Amey Deo
A feeling of narcissism knocks at the surface, but I’ll try to brush it off and write an honest account.
Writing something about myself has always been challenging for me.
While growing up, I wasn’t aware that the most important perception is the one you have about yourself.
Lack of self-awareness. Tragic? Or relatable? That’s the story, more or less, of any guy who’s grown up in a small town in India having a normal/ regular childhood just like anybody else.
The identity and the idea of “Who are you?” is tied very tightly to what people around you, think of you.
So, I can attempt to say a thing or two “About me” in retrospect now.
I loved…
I used to love playing sports.
Most of my childhood growth was around the sports I played. I loved playing cricket, but I was scared of fast bowling. My coach told me to practice Table Tennis so that I could develop the skill to focus closely on a fast ball traveling towards me without fear.
I trained hard and became a National-Level Table Tennis player.
Cricket was a forgotten story.
