Picture of the prettiest human alive (before hitting his rough puberty years)

Alright, guys… let's do this.

If you write my name on Google, Wikipedia will bless you with the following information:

André is a world-renowned rapper, singer, composer, musician, actor, and flutist. His work is recognized by millions and regarded as essential in the Hip Hop scene, transcending the barriers of its time and reaching new heights for the culture.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the prestigious tale of André… 3000, one of the members of the legendary rap duo OutKast. As for me, well, I didn´t exactly live up to the ridiculous standards Mr. A. Benjamin set for our name, but I could surely go bar for bar against him in a flute battle if the situation ever escalates to that point, and I am SURE this keeps him up at night.

Yes, I grew a few inches and learned how to comb my hair since this picture was taken, but I can assure you that the awkward smile in front of the cameras and the undying love for the football team Corinthians are still great traits of my personality.

So now that you know me physically (or how I looked 20 years ago, at least), let's get to know my story then.

As it was said, my name is André. However, that´s not my only name. If you ever get my ID card, your beautiful eyes will be delighted to read the word Trovello in it, a surname that would grant me a spot at the finest vineyards in the countryside of Sicilia… if my ancestors didn´t decide to run away from Italy and move to the bright lights of São Paulo, Brazil. Therefore, instead of a calm Italian farmer, sipping wine and dancing the Tarantella, you´re actually staring at a stressed-out suburban kid studying Physics as his major.

It hasn´t been easy guys. But don´t worry! After six long years, I made it out! Despite the permanent damages Calculus, Electromagnetism and Quantum Mechanics left in me, I can gladly say that there was some light at the end of this relativistic tunnel, and now I am finally able to start the good years of my life… as an unemployed 24-year-old.

This is not a complaint. I am, in fact, very excited for this next stage of my existence. There is something magical about finishing education. Like in Training Day, when Ethan Hawke finally leaves his boring patrol days and goes to the narcotics division to hang out with Denzel Washington and the big boys. I feel everything is possible, man. Working 9–5? Sure bro, you got it. Going for that master´s degree and hopping on that Mount Rushmore of knowledge? Count me in, dude. Traveling the World? Hell yeah, I´m packing right now (you gotta pay, though, I don´t have that kind of money). There is absolutely NOTHING outside of my reach, ladies and gentlemen, because KING KONG AIN´T GOT SH#T ON ME (Please, tell me you got this reference)!

Yeah, Denzel was corrupt at the end of the movie, but that is life sometimes: cool, but doesn´t always play fair with the rookies. I guess it is what it is.

Since we got all the educational part of my resumé done for all the big tech companies out there trying to hire me, let´s talk about passion, about what drives me. I like everything. Not everything EVERYTHING, but the considerable portion of 99,7% of things, with the remaining 0,3% mainly involving Botanics and Chemistry. Have you ever been out on a date with someone and got completely bamboozled by how she/he could talk about any subject? This is the person I´m trying to become when I look in the mirror every day.

That is why, looking at my trajectory, you´ll find yourself at the greatest fever dream of your life. Don´t believe me? Alright, get in and buckle up your seatbelt because we are just about to start the “Random Brazilian Man” tour. Feel free to take pictures if you want, just watch out for those hands out of the vehicle. First, looking to your right, you can see the skateboarding era, back in 2015, which led to some big cuts, a partially functional knee and the insane amount of zero kickflips. At your left, you have the sewing years of 2007/08, when granny thought it was a good idea for men to manufacture their own scarfs. Then, behind you, we got the Theater classes in high school, that brought to the world great roles like “The Janitor”, “Construction Man” and “Drunk Ballet Teacher”. Now, in front of… What? You want to stop? We haven´t even gotten to the “I wanna be Spiderman” days or the “Gonna make a tattoo” week. Alright, we can continue some other time.

All jokes aside, I do have some regular interests. If you ever find me in the streets, take a quick glance at my right hand, there will probably be a book there. Sometimes it is going to be a classic, others, it might be a 1 out of 5 stars rated novel on Goodreads, because this man right here is a strong defender of bad quality art and its cultural impact. While you´re at it, take my headphones and put them on your ear. Can you hear Kendrick Lamar bumping? Good, that is my go-to music when I have a big game of football (the one you actually play with your feet) or basketball. After it, depending on the result, I might just go to the movies and check out whatever is on.

This is basically who I am. No need to talk more because, it would either be too shallow, or it would ruin the surprise, and we don´t want any of that. All you have to know at this moment is that this is my page. I don´t know what the content around here is going to be yet. I might talk about my research in Physics and Astronomy; or about my favorite artists/books/movies; maybe even share my thoughts on the socioeconomics of this very planet. All I know is that I need to vent. There is a lot in my mind right now and I would love to share it. And it would be very nice to have people to engage with me. That´s all.

Hope you guys stick around.

Thank you so much :)

André.
