About Me — Anna
She’s Greek-American, she wants to be a lawyer and, above all, she wants to stop the stigma around mental health.
Despite not wanting this to sound like a perfunctory essay written for the first week of English class, I begin this About Me by outlining the different areas of my life which I think are significant enough to share. The first is that I am a proud Greek-American. The second is that I hope to be a lawyer one day. The third, and perhaps most significant to this blog, is that I suffer from mental illness.
Now, in any other context, I think it would be a little archaic to announce my mental illness as my most important feature. Still, on a blog where I talk primarily of my struggles with Depression, Anxiety, and ADHD, it seems appropriate.
I’ll also include some fun facts at the end of this story because who doesn’t love those?
Why am I writing this?
While this is an About Me, I also see it as an introduction to my blog, a somewhat basic overview of the main parts of my life that I see as relevant to my writing.
