Hi, I’m Anna Itzel Cazita. My background is not a straight path and I often refer to my past as being a different life. Someone who read palms even once told me that my lifeline is broken so I will live multiple “lives”. I would almost say that I have lived 3 lives so far, so maybe I’m like a cat who will live 9 lives before I die.

I am a mother, restless entrepreneur, and organization freak. I’m born and raised in Sweden but I lived in California for 2.5 years where I met my Brazilian husband.

Ever since I burned out a few years ago I have been obsessing over productivity. It made me decide to start a business and today I manage a couple of websites and trying to start my own brand of handmade table-setting accessories.

The business is called Casetta Home and I’m releasing the first collection on Etsy at the beginning of next week. I have a Shopify also but that one will for now only be in Swedish.

My Medium goals

  1. My first goal is to do the 100-day challenge!
  2. After that, I’m hoping to use Medium as a way to start building my own blogging business.

My Medium topics

I mainly write about entrepreneurship, productivity, creativity, women in tech, and women in business.

My background

I have studied art, design, business, and systems development in college but I guess you can call me a marketer by profession. I used to work for a small SaaS company, but the experience ended up in me burning out in 2019.

Actually, it wasn’t only my employers’ fault, I was the type of young woman who “leaned in”. In 2017 I was in Microsoft’s competition for young promising women in tech in Sweden and I made it to the top 10. I also was the vice president of the nonprofit organization Computer Girl in Sweden that same year. I was doing everything “I was supposed to do” to succeed.

I took that same approach to the job and I was given a lot of responsibilities very fast without much support. I couldn’t handle it and crashed. After that, it feels like my life changed a lot in a short period of time. In 2020 I had my first child and in 2021 I started my business.

The first year in business was messy and unfocused and it’s just now in the past months that I’ve started to focus on what to do to succeed. Some would say that I need to limit my options even more but that will not work for me.

I’ve found a level that will work for me long term. I get to write and manage websites and digital marketing, I also get to design, and I get to work with something away from the computer. If I stick to this long term then I know everything will work out just fine.

My family

I’m married to a Brazilian I met in California in 2014 and we have a daughter named Sophia. She is a happy, very girly, and wild little 2.5-year-old girl. She’s my northern star. I try to improve myself for her and shape my business in a way so that I can be the best possible mother to her.

What makes me unique

I feel like I’ve lived a very rich life, I’m open-minded and curious about a lot of things. I’ve lived in different places and met a lot of people from different cultures. I’ve dated, had my heart broken, and felt deep love. I’m passionate about both the future and the past. My love for art, design, nature, and architecture makes me appreciate a lot of things around us. I’m very appreciative of where life is taking me really. But being me has its downside in that I’ve never felt like I fit in anywhere. I’ve always felt like an outsider.
