About Me — Assumpta Nalubowa
I have but only two passions. I love to learn and I love to laugh. My whole life is organized around these two simple things.
When I was younger, I wanted to become a movie star. Not an actress, a movie star.
And then I wanted to be a scientist — a physicist to be exact. Then a doctor. Then an astronaut. Or was it an astronomer? All I remember is I just wanted to study the stars and the universe.
Then I changed my mind. I wanted to design buildings. To become an architect. And when that didn’t work out, I thought I should do fashion design or graphics design. Any kind of design career would’ve sufficed really.
Or so I thought.
We like to think that we are one thing. That there is this thing we were put on this earth to become. So I spent my whole life trying to figure out what that thing was.
My reasoning was simple: If I just figured out my calling — my passion, I will forever dedicate my life to polishing that skill. I will spend my life in service to the world using my passion.
I was terribly wrong. I am not one thing. No one is, really. It’s just a matter of what we get exposed to.
