With my head in the clouds…
I’ve always been a fan of the metaphorical dream. The whole idea of BEing a dreamer captured and enchanted me. And even though there were negative connotations associated with it — like being a dreamer meant you weren’t rooted in reality — I still felt like it was preferable to being too cynical about life.
Cynicism is easy. It’s brave and takes courage to hope.
Hope, I feel, is at the root of all dreaming. And like how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “I have a dream…”, I also have a dream, a hope, and a way about myself that reflects that. It involves people caring about each other so much that any form of selfishness comes last, always last. If everyone was like that, no one would ever go without because everyone would share and actively look out for others in every way they could — whether that be with their time, their companionship, their food, their shelter, their help, their love, or their clothes.
Wouldn’t that be something to see?
