Professional Ben, CMA, CSCA, MBA, PMP, CPA
My name is Benjamin Wann. By day, I am trained as a management (or cost) accounting professional, but I use the word accountant loosely.
There’s a joke that goes if accountants were doctors, they’d still be sawing off legs and using leeches to cure ailments. In reality, it’s not that far off. Thus, given the chance, I’m much likelier to describe myself as an operational manufacturing leader dedicated to driving strategy-execution.
Today, I work as a controller for a biotech startup in the Philadelphia Navy Yard, and next month, I will start a new role as head of FP&A/cost, accounting for a pharmaceutical contract manufacturer. If I were a pig, this is my mud, where I am happy as could be and add the most value.
At this point, I’m ten years into my career, graduating with 150+ credits in an accounting/finance degree from Rutgers University- Camden. Since graduating, I’ve focused on continuing my education and receiving coaching/mentoring to grow the best and fastest I can.
