All that glitters ain’t gold — sometimes it’s bronze

Well, where do I begin?

This is the moment when you realize that you have all this space to write about yourself, but actually, nothing interesting or new to say. Then again, that hasn’t stopped me in the past, so…

I was born in Australia back when disco music was just a new concept, but a few years later I found myself here in Scotland. I yo-yoed back and forth throughout my childhood, to the point where I began to think we were on the run. But alas, that was not the case — just parents with itchy feet.

So yeah, I had a fractured youth, but I firmly believe it added a texture to my personality that I otherwise would not have had.

I have been writing for longer than I can remember: it’s just a part of who I am. I enjoy creating worlds, building stories, and writing dialogue, and a lot of my fiction can be found online. Writing has never been considered cool or trendy, but I don’t claim to be those things. I am, however, happy doing it, and that’s all that matters.

I have joined Medium because I think it’s about time I pushed myself in a few different directions — to step out of my comfort zones— and because I want to be a part of an online community of like-minded individuals who perhaps get me, even just a little bit.

I got rid of Facebook about a decade ago, and I have managed to stay off all the other social media platforms as well. I think they are often toxic and promote bad behavior and a dubious mob mentality. I have only been on Medium for a couple of weeks, but in that time I have seen how friendly and giving this family is.
