My Bio
Hi! My name is Brian and I’m from Georgetown, Malaysia (yes you’re right, there are lots of Georgetowns all over the world!). I’ve been writing on Medium for five months now and have not even thought about introducing myself! Rude, I know.
I’m 40 and have been spending the last year or so cooped up back home in Georgetown due to the pandemic. My passport has been gathering dust in a corner of my bookshelf, my hiking boots growing cobwebs and I just discovered that my travelling suitcase is now home to a family of fly-eating house geckos (yes we get a lot of those in tropical Malaysia).
I work from home and the drudgery of being cut off from so many of the things I once took for granted has made me turn to writing as a way to de-stress, find myself and hopefully get connected with like-minded people from around the world.
I live on an small island not too far from Thailand and Indonesia, and a few hours drive from our capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Oh and don’t get me started on our local cuisine, my hometown has been voted one of the top culinary…
