About Me — Caitlin Bourbonnais
Formerly Failed Artist & Procrastinator; Now Reformed Creatrix
If you’re wondering, my last name is pronounced like a Canadian asking for whiskey — bourbon, eh? Something I hear often enough where I’m from: Ottawa, Ontario. Ottawa is the actual capital of Canada, situated four hours northeast of the more popular and cultured city of Toronto that everyone thinks is the capital.
My Work and Interests
I’m currently working as an online instructor through CanScribe Career College, teaching self-paced remote programs with a great team of fellow instructors and educational assistants. I’ve recently been helping to develop curricula for new programs as well. I still do a bit of medical transcription on the side because I think it’s important to stay in touch with what I teach. I also love that each report is basically a short story.

I had my first job at a bakery at the tender age of fourteen. Since then I’ve worked in over twenty places in different industries. I’ve worked at several restaurants, a hotel, the Royal Canadian Mint, and the British Embassy as a cook.
