About Me — Cathylouise
Constantly exhausted chronic illness survivor with a passion for words that sometimes come together into readable sentences.
Hi, I never know what to write when it comes to telling people about me. I’m not much good at small talk and usually express who I am through my poetry. Anyway, we’ll give this a try.
I’m Cathy. I’m a 49-year-old mother of a teenage daughter, one senior puppy, and five rats. I’m a writer, poet, ex-teacher, pagan, cosplayer and chronic illness survivor. I completed a four-year teaching degree despite becoming very ill towards the end of the third year and spending much of that summer unable to complete the smallest task and being looked after by my parents.
I married for the first time in my 20s’ and filed for divorce after just a year. It was an experience that allowed me to see the best and worst in many people and the gift of being a part of my stepchildren’s lives.
Around this time, I realised I would never manage a full-time teaching post. I had already put my writing on the back burner after losing what little…
