About Me — Chris Tavner
UK based comedian and improviser turned writer, with a left wing bent, and an ongoing interest in self development.
Based in Salford in Greater Manchester, UK. Currently living the settled life of a married man with a shared mortgage and a cat, and not a little surprised that I managed to get here.
I often write about different aspects of self development, whether that be in terms of mental health, physical health or lifetime learning of new skills, such as writing. Having a background in stand up and improv often leads to notes of comedy seeping in to my writing.
I first dipped my toe in to contributing for Medium a year ago, but decided in Spring 2021 to take up writing more seriously. Since then, I have contributed regularly, and have now turned writing in to an essential habit in my life.
South to North
Originally from Poole in Dorset, on the English south coast, I moved up to Salford in 2001 to go to University, and I have stayed in the Manchester area ever since. Poole is a beautiful part of the world, which you can appreciate when you’re 38, but at 19 I was happy to move to the big city.
