About Me — Christina
A mom. A wife. A daughter. An aunt. A friend. These are labels. Labels who describe some of me, but do not define me.
My life experiences, or more appropriately how I responded to these circumstances, better define me.
Managing and recovering from a ruptured intestine, a broken neck and a placental abruption; caring for a sick child; returning to graduate school as a parent while working full time; leaving a job and people that I cared for after 16 years to start a new opportunity — these are some of the experiences that help define me.
Our character is a reflection of our actions. My actions tell a story of determination, compassion and very likely, that there is much more to me than what those labels offer.
I am an optimist. I will always find the blessings and opportunities through challenges. The label of an optimist has been tested by my experiences; my experiences and related actions which allow me to demonstrate, with integrity, this is a who I am.
I am a listener, a learner and an applier. Again, labels with meaning only displayed through the evidence of my actions ( — which I hope to capture in the stories I will share.)
I am an introvert. I need to time and space away to digest thoughts — and to refuel. This platform provides a tool for this reflection.
I am socially awkward and uncertain. Uncertain, as I hide behind a curtain to comfort my insecurities, insecurities that are only present because of judgement; but who is the one casting judgement?
So, about me? I am stepping out from behind the curtain. I am a mom, wife, daughter, aunt and friend who, like you, is on a journey. I am opening a door to new possibilities. Nice to meet you.
