Hello, my name is Claudia, welcome to my Medium. I talk about global citizenship, language learning, personal development, and mindset. But let me tell you how I became a writer on Medium.

A tiny bit about my background:

I was born in Sardinia, an Italian island, in 1999. While today I am proud of being Sardinian, it wasn’t always like this.

I spent my childhood living in the countryside with my mum, dad, younger sister, and older brother until I was about 8 years old and my parents divorced. This happened just after we moved from the countryside to the main city. That’s when my life changed forever.

For various reasons which I will not explore in depth here, my mum was the head of the household and worked full-time to look after the three of us. I was confused and upset both about the break-up and moving out of our old house, but I didn’t have time to process my emotions.

Since my mum was out working most of the time, I felt like it was my duty to look after my younger sister and show up strong in front of everyone else from a young age. I didn’t have the means to pursue any sport, hobby, or passion of any kind until I was old enough (about 15 years old)…
