About Me — Cody Ange

I’m currently writing this on a particularly warm day in February in Raleigh, North Carolina. I’m outside on my porch with my beautiful Boston Terrier (pictures will be included, of course) and watching the sun begin to set. I’m new to Medium and to finally taking the initiative to take writing seriously, which is something I’ve been considering for years at this point.
Small Town Living
I grew up in North Carolina, but closer to the state’s coast in a very small town. The town is known as Jamesville (not to be confused with Jamestown). I think that the term “small town” doesn’t really do justice to the size of this town. Jamesville currently has a population of about 410 people. The town has one gas station, one stoplight, and one Dollar General. It’s the type of town where everyone knows everyone and not much ever really changes. In fact, everything looks pretty much the same as when I was a kid.
I would say that my upbringing was very traditional for a small-towner. I went to church with my family three times a week, ate dinner together every night, always had three dogs playing in the yard, spent a lot of time outside, and I grew up on a farm.
