About Me — Crystal Rene
Just a stay-at-home mom on a mission to help other moms!
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
Oh ya know, just an imperfect human following a perfect God. A mama to 3 beauties and a wife to a man I can’t stop thanking God for.
I became a mom at 35.
To say it flipped my world upside down is an understatement. I was never a “kid person” and never thought I would have kids.
But then I did.
Despite all the advice, I kept thinking, “Why does no one prepare you for this?” None of the advice I received even came close to helping me understand the magnitude of the way my life was about to change.
- Going from the life you knew one day to a completely different life the next
- The reality of sleeplessness
- Feeling completely alone even when people are around
- The hormones. OH the hormones
- Different levels of postpartum depression
Just to name a few.
My prayers were heavy. I knew God’s ways were higher than my ways, and He was growing me, but man, was it HARD!
Walking through the most challenging season of my life strengthened my faith and gave me a deep passion to help other moms through this journey.
My second son arrived 14 months after the first, and my daughter two years later. After the initial shock of motherhood that didn’t wear off until about two years into it, I began to embrace it by God’s grace. And when I say embrace, that looks a lot like dying.
But not dying in a bad way.
I’ve spent the majority of the last five years dying to my wants and desires. Extremely counter-cultural, I know. But this death is actually life! The Holy Spirit began to reorder my thoughts, and I could see that caring for my children was my ministry and how I serve my Savior!
Is it giving Jesus Freak vibes?
“I’m okay with that. Passion is passion, right?”
Do I have it all figured out? Ah, no! But I do have wisdom to share, and that’s where writing comes in.
I started my blog, Everything Mom Life, as a vehicle to share my passion for helping moms in every aspect of life. I’m excited to use Medium as an extension of this and to connect with this community.
If you are a mama in the trenches, I hope you will follow along for more encouragement, resources, wisdom, and help!
So, although this is about me, I’m finding it’s really more about you.
