Hi there! I’m David (he/él).

I’m a writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I share creative nonfiction pieces including articles, personal essays, and memoirs on Medium.

Over the last two years, I’ve shifted my professional focus into the industry of journalism utilizing my education and work experiences to report on stories about my local community. I obtained my master’s degree in mass communications from the School of Journalism at San Diego State University, and my bachelor’s in film and video from Columbia College in Chicago.

While my Medium page is curated with long-form stories, I’ve written and edited a variety of digital content throughout the last 10 years for employers such as Tripadvisor, Crisis Text Line, Leonard-Litz Foundation, Atlantis Events, Motivate ROI Agency, Better Business Bureau, and the Academy of Art University.

Prior to settling down in the Bay Area, I lived in Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and San Diego. I’m originally from Chicago. When I’m not at my keyboard, you’ll find me reading anything from the insights of Malcolm Gladwell to the articles of Dara Lind to the scariest of Stephen King.
