About Me — David Rudder
Me, myself, and I — This is who I am
I am shaped by the wind and the weather
and am who I am
I’ve been on this planet for ages
and do only what I can.
I’ve lived a lucky life
it’s had its highs and lows
there have been days of sunshine
and dark days when the wild wind blows.
What I’ve done no longer matters
there’s nothing left to prove
as the record of life keeps turning
I’m the one that must approve.
What I do as I walk onwards
and tread softly as I can
and tell tales of my life in poetic form
about the race I ran.
My age is but a number
my strength is peace of mind
love kindness friends and family
is the glue I find to bind.
And paste a place of solace
with my fellow friends across the universe
the joy in the way we communicate
and exchange our thoughts in verse.
I hope I’m remembered as a struggler
the goal is being kind
embraced by the experiences
of my times joined in with mankind.
I could say I was a writer
or an artist about to sketch
a story about an old feller
headed down the home stretch.
I know who I am, I am nothing
and one day will turn to dust
thankful for the gift of the journey
in truth is what I trust.
