On a mission to return to my writing roots
Hi, there! I know this may not be the first or last Medium article you read today, so I’ll jump right to it… I’m writing this piece to introduce myself and share a little about my writing journey. Thanks for taking the time to read it!
My background
Just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I left a well-paying job as Chief Operating Officer to pursue my lifelong aspirations of writing full-time. I’ve also managed a consulting business and served in editorial roles for a national non-profit and a trade magazine. As a freelance writer, I’ve published more than 40 articles on topics such as child health, personal growth and development, and writing.
Although I’ve had many professional jobs, I never really found my place in the corporate world. Even the executive job, which I certainly was proud of achieving, lacked the fulfillment I desired. Ultimately, I knew I had to make a change if I was going to be true to myself and pursue what was important to me.
