About Me — Eelco

Hey there, this is me! My name is Eelco. I’m a thirty-seven-year-old father, husband, and web analyst with cerebral palsy.

I live in Bodegraven (the Netherlands) a town known for its cheese. My family and I moved here about a year ago. After finally finding a house that supports our needs.

Having cerebral palsy presents its challenges, but knowing I nearly wasn’t here at all is motivational, especially now I’m a father and a husband.

I live my life as “normal” as possible, but let’s be honest, having a three-year-old and a disability isn’t that normal yet.

I love writing about anything in life. Don’t expect just one topic; expect everything infused with my personal experience. Let’s be honest, who wants to read about the same thing all the time? I’m not one-dimensional, and neither are you.

I started writing on Medium because I couldn’t find the answers I was looking for. So I had to create the answers.

Over time, I discovered that writing has even more benefits.

When I’m not writing, I love to create black-and-white photos or build Lego Technic cars. Talking about cars, I’m a big Formula One fan.

I think this sums me up, but writing about yourself isn’t that easy. It can go both ways; either I bored you to death or I missed something you want to know. So, please let me know if there is anything you want to know. I’m planning to do a follow-up that incorporates your questions.
